About

studioEVIG was founded by two friends living in the Cotswolds who love all things floral. Claire & Stephy met some years ago working as freelance florists and formed a firm friendship. Concerned about the increase in flower waste, the pair collaborated to find a more efficient way to maximise their floral resources.

Producing beautiful textiles using only colours that nature provides, they are passionate about reducing the use and need for chemical, synthetic dyes by showcasing what our ancestors already knew - nature’s colour palette is truly varied and magical.

“Evig” (pronounced “AIR-vee”) means “everlasting” in Norwegian, and holds huge significance for this duo as Stephy is Norwegian, and the word seemed perfectly suited for their aim - to create well-made, quality, sustainable products that endure.

Having grown up in a farming family, Claire was curious to discover what she could grow herself, and so six years ago, after her daughter's birth, she began cultivating cut flowers for events and weddings. In recent years, she expanded her efforts to growing flowers specifically for fabric dyeing. She absolutely loves the fact there are no wasted blooms, as every flower can be harvested and dried, then used in a dye pot throughout the year. For the colours they’re unable to grow successfully in the UK, Claire and Stephy have found trusted suppliers who share their commitment to sustainability.

Stephy has finally found her true passion - achieving bright and bold colours and patterns using the flowers she and Claire grow and use on the farm. Being able to combine an active outdoor lifestyle with their dogs by their sides and be creative with flowers in a different way to floristry is the perfect combination. The seasonal nature of the growing side of the business also allows Stephy the flexibility to return home to her much-loved job at Trasti & Trine as a dog mushing guide during the winter months. She has drawn much of her inspiration from her years of working in Alta - T&T have always had sustainability in their focus whilst maintaining high quality products and experiences - and has found motivation in seeing what can be achieved when you stick to your ethos.
